Hardware: The physical part of the computer
Software: A set of instructions and programs.
Parts of a computer
CPU: The part of the computer that processes and executes all the commands that it receives.
Peripherals: Auxiliary devices that let the CPU connect to the outside.
- Input peripherals: devices used to enter information into the CPU.
- Output peripherals: devices used to take information out of the computer ant to communicate outside it.
BIT: Minimum amount of information that a computer can represent
(bit byte kilobyte megabyte gigabyte)
Ports: devices or interfaces used to connect circuits or components.
Unit 7: Internet and digital responsability.
- Computer virus : A program that enters a computer usually without the knowledge of the operator. Some viruses are mild and only cause messages to appear on the screen, but others are destructive and can wipe out the computer's memory or cause more severe damage.
- Cyberbullying: bullying that takes place using electronic technology. Electronic technology includes devices and equipment such as cell phones, computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media sites, text messages, chat, and websites.
- Grooming: the criminal activity of becoming friends with a child, especially over the internet, in order to try to persuade the child to have a inappropriate relationship
